The awards are organised by the Essex Chronicle Media Group who have been recognising the very best of Essex food and drink for the past five years.
The 2012 awards are now open and you can nominate your favourite restaurant, baker, chef and so on in each category but you can only submit one nomination per category so make your nomination count!

The top six in each non - chef category with the most nominations by the closing date of 12th July will reach the judges shortlist from which they will select their four finalists. The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at Stockbrook Country Club on 24th September.
You can also nominate an individual in any of the three chef categories. Nominated chefs will need to complete and submit an entry form in order to be considered. Alternatively, chefs can enter the competition direct by downloading and completeing an entry form below. Four chef finalists in each category will be selected from their paper entries and invited to live cooking finals where they will cook their chosen menus for the judges.
Top tips for Nominees - You can download the nomination form and give them to customers and ask them to nominate you in your chosen category. You can then collect the forms and post them to us on a weekly basis.
